CLIMATE
environment and nature
The climate is Mediterranean and dry on average, with average rainfall of roughly 450 mm per year.
The constant presence of winds is fundamental, especially from west and northwest, also because we lack natural barriers to them, thus allowing both winds to keep humidity at bay during the day and also to increase the beneficial effect of the sea during n high summer temperatures.
The proximity to the sea and Nurra’s natural exposure to north-west are certainly the most important climatic features that influence the territory, so that even in hot and dry vintages the weather is still mild, thus avoiding dangerous heat spikes.
